One

as the executive assistant to the Head of
the Hamburg regional office. From thereon,
he went on to assume the position as the
Head of Sales at the Hamburg Harburg office
of Allianz. There has been no looking back
for this phenomenal leader since. Born in
1954, he studied law and philosophy from
Göttingen University. He has held several
other positions in Allianz Group before
going on to occupy one of the most coveted
positions in April 2003, that of the Chairman
of this huge financial organization. Ever
since he took over the reins of this company
in his able hands, Allianz has been surging
ahead. Extremely clear in his perception,
Diekmann believes that for the company to
prosper, it is important that numerous shareholders,
customers and employees can participate
in the day functioning of the organization.
A multi-faceted personality, Diekmann takes
out time for the various organizations he
is a part of. Some of the organizations
include Linde AG (Deputy Chairman), Allianz
Lebensversicherungs-AG (Group mandate, Chairman),
Dresdner Bank AG (Group mandate, Chairman),
Allianz Versicherungs-AG (Group mandate,
Chairman) and Allianz Dresdner Asset Management
AG (Group mandate, Chairman). In addition,
he is also member of a number of comparable
management bodies, for example, Assurances
Générales de France (Group
mandate, Vice President) and Riunione Adriatica
di Sicurtà S.p.A. (Group mandate,
Vice president). Under him, Allianz has
now spread its activities to cover 70 countries
with nearly 174,000 employees. Years of
